Small Actions. Big Impact. Honoring MLK Day Through Service

Statute of Martin Luther King, Jr.,

There are many of us who wish we could do more volunteer work. Hectic schedules and full calendars can make it feel like there simply isn’t enough time to dedicate to helping others. For many people, volunteering regularly can feel like a luxury — something we want to do, but struggle to fit into our everyday lives.

Thankfully, there are opportunities like MLK Day of Service, happening on Monday, January 19th, that remind us how powerful even one day of giving back can be.

MLK Day of Service is an open invitation for community members to step in, lend a hand, and get connected with the many organizations and service projects happening throughout our area. It’s a wonderful way to be introduced to local nonprofits, causes, and volunteer opportunities — whether you’re looking to get involved long-term or simply want to help where you can, when you can.

While most of us may not have the capacity to volunteer on a regular basis, this day offers a meaningful and manageable way to give back. Even one day a year can make a real difference.

  • Pick up a shovel and help clear snow from a senior’s walkway.
  • Put on some gloves and help clean up litter to keep our city beautiful.
  • Pack food boxes for families in need.

Small actions like these create big impact — for individuals, families, and the community as a whole.

We would truly love to have you join us this MLK Day of Service.
Reach out to your local organizations, find a cause you’re passionate about, and take part in honoring Dr. King’s legacy through service.

Because when we serve together, we strengthen our community — one act of kindness at a time.
